This 3-day conference will bring together philosophers and theologians from various backgrounds for the purpose of investigating the compatibility of ontological randomness and divine foreknowledge.   The first day will focus on issues pertaining to the philosophy of science and randomness in the universe.  The second day will focus on issues related to systematic metaphysics and ontological randomness.  The last day will focus more specifically on freedom and foreknowledge, as well as other issues that loom large in these debates concerning philosophy of religion and theology.

The Randomness and Foreknowledge Conference, organized by Ben Arbour and Thomas Oord, will be hosted at the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, TX, October 23-25, 2014.

This 3-day conference will bring together philosophers and theologians to investigate the in/compatibility of ontological randomness and divine foreknowledge.  The first day will focus on issues related to philosophy of science and apparent randomness in the universe.  The second day will focus on systematic metaphysics and the possibility of ontological randomness.  The last day will focus more specifically on the dilemma of freedom and foreknowledge and related issues in philosophy of religion and theology.

This conference is part of a larger project out of Calvin College: The Randomness and Divine Providence Project.  We are especially thankful for generous funding provided by The John Templeton Foundation.
